Bring the Leadership Under Load conversation into the school.

A configurable school visit for situations where responsibility, decisions, escalation or policy pressure are showing up across more than one person or cohort.

Start with the pressure already visible. The visit can combine student leadership, staff briefing, executive pressure mapping and Policy to Practice work into one contextualised half-day or full-day engagement.

  • Student leaders
  • Staff
  • Executive teams
  • Policy to Practice
  • Half-day or full-day

Is this the right pathway?

Use the School Visit when the pressure is wider than one leader or one student cohort.

The visit is designed for schools that already recognise a repeating pattern and want a connected conversation across the people carrying or experiencing it.

Use the School Visit when

  • issues repeatedly escalate to the same senior people;
  • capable staff keep absorbing extra coordination or relational load;
  • pressure is visible across students, staff or leadership layers;
  • shared language across several groups would help;
  • the school wants Ric in the room for a connected response.

Start with the leader carrying the pressure

The clearest evidence is often what keeps returning to the same trusted people.

A school may still be functioning well while one or two leaders absorb difficult parent conversations, sensitive behaviour issues, staff uncertainty, policy interpretation or final decisions. The visit tests whether that pressure belongs around one role or reflects a wider structural pattern.

Visit components

Choose one component or combine several into one contextualised visit.

The scope follows the school context rather than forcing the school into a fixed package.

What schools leave with

Shared language, clearer visibility and a proportionate next step.

The visit is not positioned as a formal HR, clinical, psychosocial or assurance process. It is a leadership and structural conversation designed to make the pressure easier to see, discuss and act on.

Clearer language

Discuss responsibility, escalation, authority and support without reducing the issue to blame.

Earlier visibility

See where pressure is building before it becomes fatigue, dependency or culture drift.

Better questions

Use practical questions to examine where responsibility keeps gathering and why.

Connected perspectives

Bring student, staff and executive views together where a whole-school issue is involved.

Policy-to-practice clarity

See where expectations, responsibility, authority, support and escalation are not connecting.

Next-step clarity

Identify whether the next move belongs with students, staff, executives, policy work or deeper review.

How the engagement works

Start with the school context, not a package.

  1. 01

    Share the context

    Provide the school location, likely audience, timing and the pressure or responsibility patterns being noticed.

  2. 02

    Confirm the strongest format

    Determine whether the visit should be student-facing, staff-focused, executive, Policy to Practice or combined.

  3. 03

    Receive a written scope

    The school receives the proposed format, timing, inclusions, travel requirements and total cost before confirming.

Research and practical evidence

Practice-led, research-backed and grounded in school leadership pressure.

The school pathway is informed by the Ultimate Marks work on Leadership Load, responsibility readiness, decision authority, organisational dependency and operational trust.
